It's in your blood

A few months back I invested a small amount of money in a basic sewing machine. It was my intention to sew my daughter Sophie (3) some kindy sheets as I really felt it was a "right of passage" for any mother to do this. After all I could still clearly remember picking out my own kindy sheet material and my mother sewing it for me with matching draw string bag for my library books. (BTW it was pink ginham seersucker with pussy cats on it).

Well the kindy sheets were deemed a success and I decided to buy a few patterns and give actually clothes making a while. It had been over 10 years since I had attempted to sew a peice of clothing and the last time was in Year 10 home ec and I think my Mother sewed more it than I did!

After some trial and error I discovered not only did I love it, I wasn't so bad at it either. My Mum and Dad keep telling me it "it's in your blood" as I have so many ancestors who where seamstress' and tailors.

So here I am thinking about starting a little sewing business and busily putting together delicious fabrics for little girls (and boys too).

I hope you enjoy my blog as much as I enjoy my sewing.
